Do you really need a boiler service?

The short answer is YES. Some boiler manufacturers will not honour the warranty if you do not have your boiler serviced at the suggested intervals. If you are a landlord, you are legally responsible for the safety of your tenants in relation to gas safety. By law, you must have an annual gas safety check on each appliance and flue. For the homeowner, boiler servicing gives that piece of mind that your boiler is running efficiently and that any potential problems are identified and fixed before a boiler breakdown.

How often do I need to get my boiler serviced?

We recommend that you service your boiler annually and most major boiler manufacturers agree. If you haven’t had your boiler serviced over the last 18 months, we highly recommend you do so to prevent any potential problems from building up.

How much does a boiler service cost?

Can I service the boiler myself?

Only Gas Safe Engineers can work on gas appliances in the UK. Not only is it illegal to work on gas if you are unqualified, but it is incredibly dangerous to both you and anyone else living in the property.
